I spent yesterday with my dad. My dad is 84. He got on the express bus which took him from the Bronx to the city. I met him at the Empire State Building. We went to K-Mart shopping (he loves their shoes) and then we went to Jack Dempsey's which is a famous Irish Pub on 33rd Street. We had lunch and I walked him to his bus, waited for the bus, and off he went back home. What is so amazing about him is he never stops, he keeps going. He is a huge inspiration to me and how I conduct my life. I learn something new about him when I see him. I never knew that his first job when he came to New York (he is from Ireland) was the cleaning man at Saks Fifth Avenue or that he did night security at Bergdorf Goodman in the 50's.
Here is a picture of him helping me pack up 1000 gift bags to send to our troops for the holidays (back in 2009). He never stopped till we were done, ok maybe for a cup of afternoon tea which is pretty damn important.
